Image courtesy of DaylifeThe Chicago Fire are visiting the New England Revolution to kick off the 2008 MLS Cup Playoffs.
The Revolution will be severely undermanned for this match, missing Taylor Twellman, Adam Cristman, and Steve Ralston all due to injury. On top of that, defender Gabriel Badilla and winger Khano Smith are both suspended.
The Fire, on the other hand, should have a full squad tonight. Blanco and McBride headline their probable starting eleven, but also look out for Chris Rolfe, who is coming off of a first-half hattrick last time out.
Chicago had New England's number this season, beating them 3 times, and outscoring them 9-1. This included a 4-0 win and a 2-1 win at Toyota Park, and a 3-0 win at Gillett Stadium.
Given both clubs' recent form, Chicago has to be the favourite going into this series. The Revolution have won just two league matches since the All-Star game.
I think Chicago will come out on top in the end, and I wouldn't be surprised if they win both matches in the tw0-leg series.
