From what I read in yesterday's article from a local Guyanese news source, only two trialists have been asked to return to Florida this week (with Gregory Richardson being one of them). I would assume this means that Darren Kenton, Michael McGlinchey, Pablo Salinas Manacho, and any others weren't up to snuff. Interesting how a South American source can get us this information...

Soccer by Ives has shot down any rumour of Adrian Serioux coming our way. He does, however, mention that we are poised to make a flurry of signings before the season begins. Obviously, this means more than one player, and I am optimistic that there are a few defenders coming in.
Nigel Reed writes about how John Carver will be the key to our successes or failures this season.
From Toronto FC TV: Carl Robinson and Sam Cronin.
Matchday One of the Pan Pacific Championship was last night. Here are the results: Suwon Samsung Bluewings 1 - 0 Shandong Luneng Taishon FC, and Los Angeles Galaxy 2 - 0 Oita Trinita. Yes, you read that correctly, the Galaxy won. I watched a bit of both of these matches, and they definitely weren't too nice to look at.
Seattle Sounders FC have made quite a significant defensive signing. Colombian centre half Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, a recent trialist with AC Milan, have joined the expansion side.
Peter Byers has returned to the Montréal Impact on a two-year deal. He was recently linked with a move to the San Jose Earthquakes.
The Colorado Rapids have re-signed striker Omar Cummings and defender Ugo Ilhemelu to four-year contracts.
The New York Red Bulls have re-signed Jamaican winger Dane Richards to a multi-year contract. He's gone from earning $33,000 in 2008 to a six-figure salary over the next few seasons.
